호치민시(Hochiminh city) 빈 탄(Binh Thanh) 구에서 운하 근처의 아늑한 땅에 자리잡은 <락 하우스>는 건축 및 시공 사무소뿐만 아니라 실내 전시실 기능까지 담은 설계가 요구 되었다. 게다가 건축주는 이 대지를 5년에서 10년정도 단기 임대하는 것이어서 최소한의 공사비만 들이고 싶어했다. 이런 상황에서, 단기간에 쉽게 시공할 수 있고 재활용이 가능한 저렴한 지역 재료들을 사용하는 아이디어가 핵심적인 설계방침으로 떠올랐다. 수평 하중을 줄이기 위해 암석을 집어넣은 철 망태를 쌓아 올려 만든 곡면 석벽은 본 프로젝트에 적합한 해법으로 보인다. 게다가 이 석벽은 내부에서나 외부에서나 정원의 모습이 다양해 보이는 흥미로운 공간들을 만든다. 글: a21스튜디오 Located at a soft ground closed to a canal in Binh Thanh District, HCM city, [Rock House] is required to design to meet functions of an architecture & construction office as well interior showroom. Under those circumstances, the idea using cheap local materials, easy to construct in a short-time and re-used ability was raised as a key design direction. The curved stone-walls made by many piled-up-steel-cages contained rocks inside to reduce horizontal force seem to be a suitable solution for this project.
