: idea PROJECT : Organic Grid+ Architect: Cassidy+Wilson

<오가닉 그리드+>는 근무 환경을 완전히 재조명하여, 식량 생산과 증가하는 비만율, 길어지는 노동시간, 유한자원이 되어가는 땅과 같은 현실의 문제들에 대해 창조적이고 혁신적이며 독특한 방식으로 대처하는 계획이다. 프로젝트는 미래 근무자들의 건강과 복지 향상을 위해 기술과 자연이 어떻게 조화를 이룰 수 있는지에 초점을 맞춘다. 건축가는 증강현실 콘택트렌즈와 같은 웨어러블 기술(wearable technology)이 일상생활의 일부가 되는 직장에서 주변 세계에 대한 실시간 정보 습득을 통해 자신의 식이요법에 필요한 게 무엇인지 제안 받는 환경을 예상했다. 또한 더 나은 교육과 활동, 건강한 근무환경을 만들고자, 근무자들이 그들의 먹거리를 직접 재배하고 수확하도록 했다. 이러한 미래는 초목으로 둘러싸인채 풍부한 자연광이 드는 반투명 구조에서 근무자들이 각자에게 맞는 업무 공간을 구성하고 설정할 수 있는 기회를 가지는 환경을 만드는 것으로 이루었다. 또한 건강에 이로우며 일의 능률이 높아지는 입식 근무를 시행하는 것도 중요했다. 책상과 벽은 직원들이 원하는 대로 공간을 구성할 수 있는 가변형으로 설계된다. 어떤 조직에도 적응할 수 있는 지속 가능하고 유연한 해법을 만들어내기 위해, 어떤 사무 공간에도 설치가 가능한 단순한 격자 체계를 사용했다. 계획의 중심인 정원에서, 건축가는 건강을 위해 근무자들이 각자의 먹거리를 재배하여 수확할 수 있는 중앙 아트리움 공간을 만들길 원했고, 직원들이 적극적으로 수확용 벽체를 오르내리며 각자의 균형 있고 건강한 삶에 필요한 먹거리를 수확할 것을 장려한다. 동시에 회의 또는 휴식 공간인 하늘 정원에서, 직원들은 휴식을 취하고 먹거리를 스스로 수확하여 요리할 수 있다. 건축가는 모든 사업주가 자사 직원들에게 건강한 근무환경을 만들어주도록 힘써야 한다고 생각한다. 우리가 삶의 대부분을 보내는 근무환경이 변할 때, 비로소 건강한 미래를 만들 수 있다. 글: 캐시디 + 윌슨 The [Organic Grid+] completely reinvents the workplace, the scheme tackles real world problems like food production, rising obesity rates, longer working hours and land being a finite resource in a creative, innovative and unique way. Our project focuses on how technology and nature can work in harmony to aid the health and wellbeing of the employee of the future. We envisaged a workplace where wearable technology (augmented reality contact lenses in our case) is part of everyday life, giving the user live updates about the world around them and suggesting things they need in their diet. We also wanted to encourage employees to harvest their own food, which in turn creates a better-educated, active, healthier workforce. We took this further by creating an environment which was semi translucent, plentiful in natural light, surrounded by greenery and gave employees the chance to customize and configure their work space to suite them. We also thought it was important to implement stand-up working, which has proven health benefits and increased performance. The desks and walls are movable to allow employees to configure the space how they wish. We used a simple grid system, which could be plugged into any office space, to create sustainable, flexible solution, which could fit all organizations. At the Heart of the scheme was the garden, we wanted to create a central atrium space which was health conscious and allowed employees to grow and harvest their own food, employees are encourages to be active by climbing up and down the harvesting wall and collecting the food they need for a balanced healthy life style. At the same time the space acts as meeting/break out space, were employees can have the food they have collected cooked for them, while relax in the sky garden. We believe all employers should strive to create a healthy working environment for all their employees.
